2 Million Viewing Minutes on YouTube!
On April 30, 2020, the Creo Parametric YouTube channel hit 2 million viewing minutes.
From the picture above, can you tell when Creo Parametric 7.0 was released?
As you can see in the image, the channel was launched on September 11, 2018. I posted the first video the next day. On December 19, 2019, it hit 1 million viewing minutes. That took just over 15 months. Less than 3 months later, on March 7, 2020, we were at 1.5 million viewing minutes. Less than 2 months later, it's at 2 million.
I've often talked about the power of YouTube for training and end user support. I believe there's no better resource for on-demand training; YouTube is the second biggest search engine on the planet.
What does 2 million viewing minutes mean? If one person would watch continuously, it would take 3.8 years. I had proposed a video channel at my last job as a means of providing better support to our Creo and Windchill users. I never got an answer, which is why I decided to do it on my own in my "spare" time. Here's what 2 million minutes translates into one-on-one support:
* 4,166 work days
* 833 work weeks
* 16.67 work years
Over 16 years of work in under 20 months? This is a force multiplier. Frankly, I'm surprised more people and companies don't harness this power.
